Windwalker Monk in WoD

Monks. I remember when I first started playing the Monk class like it was yesterday. (You should, it was only like a couple of weeks ago — Editor) My monk is still nowhere near end game, and has barely unlocked any abilities that could be considered monkish. Which is probably why I’m not breaking a sweat about Preach’s review on the Windwalker Monk in Warlords of Draenor. That might change once I get him to level 30 though. Oh the anticipation of impending doom!

Or something.

Unholy Death Knight in WoD Beta

This may come as a shock, but I have a few Death Knights on my roster. Actually, I play a few on my server. I have two Frost (2H and DW) and a Blood DK for farming and all-around indestructibility. I think having to deal with a pet has kept me from playing an Unholy Death Knight. That may be the reason my Hunter hasn’t moved past level 85. Spreading my focus between a man and his pet doesn’t feel like fun, especially since my “focus” is an abstract construct at best. I’m the same guy who went from playing an army of plate-wearing killers in PVE to a PVP abuse-sponge wrapped in leather.

Not normally how I roll, is what I'm saying here.

Unholy DK’s seem to be a favorite in PVP, and plenty of PVE end-gamers rave about them. Then Preach comes along and gives some feedback on his Unholy DK experience in the Warlords of Draenor beta. I may be thawing a Frost DK and letting him get crazy.

Frost DK in WoD

I was a little disappointed when I first started replaying my Frost Death Knight. Granted I was still relearning everything, but the downtime was a little frustrating. When you’re the kind of person who is used to dealing damage, killing things face to face with whatever you have in your hands, every tick that goes by without doing something fatal feels like an eternity.

The oft-mentioned Preach brings good tidings from the WoD test servers. Now while this is still alpha/beta, and one should not hold their breath when it comes to class tweaks until things go live, Blizzard has done something very cool (no pun intended) – no more downtime for the Frost DK.

Warriors, on the other hands… /mourn.

Flying in Warlords of Draenor

Flying in Warlords of Draenor has been a touchy subject. By touchy I mean players have been sobbing like Old Granny Smith at a wedding. When it was first announced that there would be no flying, people acted like this had never happened before in the history of World of Warcraft. People tend to forget that this happens every expansion. The expansion goes live, people are forced to leg out their quests, and by the first major update patch there is an opportunity to get flying once again.

As reported by Qelric, Bashiok has somewhat addressed this and replies with an ETA of Patch 6.1 before flying becomes available.

Personally I think some of those characters out there could use the road work. Starting to look a little soft there folks. Too many mana cakes, not enough exercise. Get busy people!

TGIF – Warlords of Draenor Alpha Herbalism

As I stated before, one of the worst times to try and make gold is at the end of an expansion. However, one of the best times to make gold is at the beginning of the expansion. People will be rushing to level up their professions, so folks with gathering professions will be out in full force looking to take advantage of the lazy crafters who will buy up anything on the AH that will level up their profession of choice.

I am actually prepared for this. During one of my frequent bouts of insanity, I leveled a Blood Death Knight up to 60, gave him the Mining and Herbalism professions, then boosted him to 90 which maxed out both professions at 600. Once Warlords of Draenor goes live, my Blood DK will head out into the world looking for stones to dig and flowers to pick, and since he’s a Blood DK he’ll be unkillable. That’s money right there, money I’m hoping to line my pockets with.

As luck would have it, WTBGold has started doing some research into the various professions in WoD. He’s hit the alpha and started poking around, noting various changes and so on. He’s just getting his feet wet, but if this Herbalism Guide is any indication then this will be the channel to watch going forward.
