Farming Motes of Harmony as a Death Knight

Dark Knight, Death Knight… both are awesome.

Death Knights are OP.  There I said it.

I know, right?  What the Hell am I doing spilling the beans like that?  I like to think that I’m not.  I suspect people have always known that World of Warcraft’s first and only “Heroic” class has had more going for it than starting at level 55 and leaving their “starting” zone in full blue gear.

So what, you may ask, possessed me to drop this kind of knowledge on the Internet?

Gold, baby.  All about the bling bling

The Ironpaw Shuffle

World of Warcraft Gold

Mists of Pandaria is promoting obesity by glorifying stat food and cooking among the Pandaren people. To that I say “Thank You”, because it’s been helping me make gold.  The beauty of the system is that it can be done as soon as a character can get to Pandaria (ie be Level 85).  The system is called the Ironpaw Shuffle, and according to this article there are a few prerequisites:

  • Level 85 with MoP. Everyone relevant to this is in Halfhill Market, in the Valley of the Four Winds, and everything is based on level-restricted quests and items.
  • Complete the introductory quests to all 6 cooking Ways (specialisations), which notably include delivering a few ingredients (details). These require 525 cooking.
  • Those unlock Nam Ironpaw’s Preserving Freshness quest, which then becomes the repeatable quest, “Replenishing the Pantry”.

The shuffle then goes like this –

  • Take 1 stack of any one Pandarian cooking ingredient and combine it with an Empty Container for that ingredient to make a bundle of groceries. Empty Containers are sold by Merchant Cheng for 1g 50s.
  • Complete Replenishing the Pantry with the groceries, gaining 1 Ironpaw Token per bundle of groceries (1 token per stack).
  • Use the Ironpaw Token to buy a Sack containing 5 (or 25 for vegetables) of any cooking ingredient (sold by Nam Ironpaw) that are selling at a premium on the AH.

Prices tend to bounce, so it might take a little research to figure out what works for you on your server.  Good luck!

Making Gold in Mists of Pandaria

Tastes like Money.

I’m not what you’d call a professional gold maker.  That’s just not in my wheelhouse.  I will probably never reach gold cap because it takes far more time and effort than I am willing (or able) to give.

That being said, I do enjoy the challenge of making gold.  Mists of Pandaria offers quite a few gold sinks, so having coin in the pocket is what the kids call a Good Thing.  Since reaching 90, I’ve been able to do that on the regular, moving about 40k gold per week without spending hours farming or investing in the business of gold making.  This is just me playing normally, a couple of hours a day, doing what I do and making gold doing so.

This is how I do:

So Much To Do

Can’t get enough of the good stuff.

Mists of Pandaria.  Woof.  Girl, you’ve been kicking my ass like it’s an Olympic sport.

Don’t let that intro confuse you.  I’m not complaining.  I’ve already gotten my money’s worth out of the expansion, and it’s only been out for just shy of two weeks.  Needless to say, this expansion has kept me busier than any expansion has yet.  Any time I decide I have time to burn and I log in, regardless of the character or their level, there’s something I could be doing.  I’ve already accomplished a manly portion of excellence in my short time in MoP, but it feels like MoP just thumbs its nose at me twice before dropping into a low Kung Fu stance and mocks me for being an underachiever.  What have I been doing?  Well let me tell you…

WoW Non-Account Wide Mounts

In the upcoming WoW expansion, Mists of Pandaria,  Blizzard has taken on the role of your parents and will be making you share with your siblings.  Only in this case, your siblings happen to be all the characters in your account.

Yes, even the Gnome you don’t admit you play.  You cannot hide your shame from Blizzard.

Everything will be shared account-wide.  Things like Achievements and Non-Combat Pets, very little will be out of bounds.

Even mounts?

Yes, even mounts.  Well, except for these ones:

Big Daddy Blizz does not want you sharing class mounts (Felsteed), profession mounts (the engineer’s motorcycles), Feats of Strength mounts (like the Twilight Drake), or money-sinks in general (Tundra Mammoth, I’m looking at you).

So, just like your parents, Blizz is picking a favorite child and letting them keep their own goodies.

Let the daddy issues begin.

And you know how Daddy issues end up.
