Patch 5.1 Death Knight Pillow Talk

I usually don’t talk about my personal life on my blog.  I’m not a big fan of throwing myself a pity party.  Not this guy.  However, I have found that my RL news has been getting worse and worse since September (which is quickly becoming the worst autumn/winter of my entire Life).  I wish that was an exaggeration.  Hell, I’m not even going to the doctor for a checkup.  I’d just walk in and ask him to tell me what stage of Horrible Disease I am at.

To my credit, and the amazement of folks around me, I am maintaining my sanity.  At least, I think I am.  This conversation may or may not have  happened in some level of consciousness.

Death Knight Rep Gear for Mists of Pandaria

Where does he get all those wonderful toys?

Much like Forrest Gump, I am not a smart man.  Unlike Forrest Gump, I cannot play the Hell out of Ping Pong.  I do like playing the Hell out of World of Warcraft though, which means making the most of my character.  All roads lead to gearing, plain and simple.

There’s three ways to gear up in MoP – Heroic Dungeon drops, Raid drops, and Valor points (well, four including questing but you can practically fall into that equipment).  Each has their own gateway to the goods.  Heroics means getting in there, getting your ass kicked, hoping your loot drops, and then hoping you win the random roll for it.  Raiding provides better gear, tougher mobs to get through, tougher bosses to drop, hoping your epic loot drops, and THEN praying to the RNG gods that you beat the nine to twenty-four other people who may be rolling on it.

Valor gear has its own grind, mostly involving rep.  Blizzard has spread out Valor gear across several Pandaren reputation vendors, and tucked most of them in behind the sexy Revered tag.  This makes it potentially more time consuming to get Valor geared up.  Oh joy.

So where do you go for what?  Well, over at WoW Insider, Daniel Whitcomb posted an excellent article on Rep gear for Death Knights in Mists of Pandaria.  Since I’m a huge fan on not reinventing the wheel, I thought it’d be easiest just to use that list to find the appropriate rep gear. By all means, head over to the Lichborne post too for some great background information and just clever writing. I’m sure they would appreciate the page hits too…  all both of those hits that would be coming from this site.

Mists of Pandaria Leveling Map

To say it’s been a rough couple of weeks would do the past a disservice.  People who follow me on Twitter (@The_Herculano) know the story so there’s no point in rehashing it here.  My astute conclusion has been therapy via World of Warcraft, and while it might not have been very therapeutic, it has been productive.

First, Hello to Mists of Pandaria.  Leveling was going to be “fun”.  The quotes are not accidental.

There is so much I want to discuss about leveling, the expansion, general experience, but for the sake of brevity let me just say this:  it took me 1 Day 4 Hours 6 Minutes 4 Seconds to see this pop up on my screen –

And so it beings.

Class Leveling Specs in MoP

Fasten your seatbelts, World of Warcraftians!  The next two months are going to be a true and glorious gong show.  You’ve got Patch 5.0.4 currently running on the PTR, which is going to result in players undergoing more changes than a Wachowski brother.  In a few weeks, (and with the lastest news of WoW losing 1.1 Million Subscribers, probably sooner) that patch is going to be pushed to the Live server.  A few weeks after that, we will be up to our eyeballs in Pandas when Mists of Pandaria launches.

Now there are two things that will become an immediate concern – getting used to the new class changes (or revamps in the case of Warlocks – I mean Jeez dude), and leveling your character to the new level limit of 90.  Luckily, the man among men known as Preach has some suggestions as far as what spec you should use after the 5.0 class changes, when you want to start leveling in Mists of Pandaria.  He has put together two Youtube videos:

– One video for the Mage, Warlock, Shaman, Rogue and Warrior:

– And a video for the Hunter, Paladin, Priest, Druid, Deathknight and Monk:

Frost Death Knight In Patch 5.0

Time for you to chill!

This post is going to be short and sweet.  I had been concerned about the earlier state of Frost DK‘s in the beta.  However, after checking out this recent video I’m much less tense.  Frost Death Knights in 5.0 is going to be, well, at the very least playable and at the very most awesome.  Check out the latest video from the MoP Beta for talents, glyphs, and so on.

There is another reason that I was excited about the 5.0 changes to the Death Knight, and I’m glad to see it go live.

I find your lack of faith… disturbing.

FORCE CHOKE BITCHES!

That is all.
